Brewsy Daily Opening Checklist

Starting the day right means every customer gets the Brewsy experience: consistent coffee, fresh food, and a welcoming atmosphere. Use this checklist every morning before opening the doors.

1. Store Preparation

Unlock and disarm alarm system
Switch on lights, music, and Brewsy digital screens
Check overall cleanliness of café (floors, counters, seating)
Ensure indoor & outdoor signage is in place

2. Espresso Machine & Equipment

Switch on espresso machine and allow to warm up (20–30 mins)
Calibrate grinder (check grind size and weight with Brewsy calibration card)
Pull test shots to confirm correct extraction time (25–30 seconds)
Purge steam wands and clean group heads
Check milk jugs, thermometers, and tampers are clean and in place
Turn on blender and cold drinks station (if applicable)

3. Pastry & Food Display

Receive and check morning delivery (pastries, sandwiches, cakes)
Arrange pastries in display case following Brewsy Display Guide (neat rows, consistent spacing)
Rotate stock: oldest items at the front, new at the back
Ensure allergen labels and pricing cards are visible
Check fridge temperatures and ensure chilled items are within safe range

4. POS & Systems

Switch on tills and log in
Verify float and cash drawer balance (£100 standard float unless instructed otherwise)
Test card machines and confirm internet connection
Open loyalty app dashboard and confirm daily promo (if applicable)

5. Final Checks Before Opening

Restock takeaway cups, lids, sleeves, napkins, and straws
Wipe all customer tables and bar area
Check toilets are clean and stocked with paper/soap
Brew a staff “first coffee” to taste-test beans and milk freshness
Team huddle: review daily goals, promotions, and shift responsibilities

Once all tasks are complete, unlock the front doors, smile, and welcome your first customers — it’s Brewsy time!
